EDITED TO ADD: Remember back in November when I did a school visit, and it made me so tired I thought I might die, but it was super fun so I didn't care? Well, they put a pic/write-up of that visit on the school's website! Check it out here (click on the "Rachel Hawkins- Author" sidebar link, obvs.) Please note that A) I look as tired as I felt, B) I am apparently Entirely Too Famous to remove my sunglasses from my head, and C) I am holding up a story I wrote for 8th grade Earth Science about HUMAN SACRIFICE IN A PEAT BOG. I was so hardcore at 14, y'all. (Also, the piece says I graduated in '96. It was actually '98, but that's my own fault for never getting back to them with a bio!)
Okay, so for the past few months, I've been getting some requests for blog interviews, and I was, as you can imagine, all, "SCORE! I LOVE blog interviews!" But a lot of these requests were coming in during the time I was writing HEX HALL 2: HEX KITTENS (OMG, now I REALLY want to call it that! *makes note to talk to Editor Jen STAT*)
As you'll recall, the writing of that book Ate My Soul, so I was really bad about replying to emails, or I would reply but say things like, "I will so do an interview with you, just wait for me to stop crying and rending my garments, m'kay?" Still, I saved all those requests, thinking I'd get back to them later.
Which I would if Microsoft Outlook hadn't decided to become The Devil and eat my special, "Let me get back to this" email folder!
SO. I decided to create a new email JUST for blog interview/book related stuff. From now on, if you would like to request an interview or talk about the book at all, please email me at email@example.com (and if you sent me an interview request/questions and never heard back from me, please resend to this new address!)
You can still use firstname.lastname@example.org if you just want to talk to me about...I don't know, Xanadu. Prince Caspian. Why I insist on wearing my hair this way. Whatevs!
I should add that I'm doing a "blog tour" for my publisher around my release date, so a few weeks in March may be booked up already, but I'll know more soon! Also, the sooner I can start scheduling this stuff the better, since I'm due to get edits on That Book That Ate My Soul at the beginning of the New Year, and I expect a lot of January will be taken up with that! Plus there will be all the dieting/hair fixing/teeth gnashing I'll be doing pre-book release in February, and that looks to be pretty time consuming as well.
Also, one more thing! I've gotten lots of ARC requests recently, and I'm sad to say that I have no more ARCs. I actually haven't had any in months. However, you're more than welcome to ask my publisher for one, AND- yay!- we don't have that much longer to wait before the book is actually out, anyway! Just a little over TWO MONTHS, which...whoa. Two months.
I, um, need to go eat a cookie now.
