Blogiversary? FAIL

I am so sad! I TOTALLY missed my one year Blogiversary on Saturday! *sniff* However, in my defense, The Husband was out of town, and the Small Son spent a large part of the day having a Toddler Meltdown Apocalypse A Go-Go, so I was kind of busy.

But still, I hate I let it go by with nary a mention, especially since things were, um, REALLY different when I created Reading Writing Rachel. In case you haven't read it, here's my very first post, way back when I was unemployed and DEMONGLASS was only a half-finished book that still lacked a love interest, and a conflict, and a...oh, what's that word? Right. Plot.

Speaking of DEMONGLASS, we'll soon have to start calling it something else. Editor Jen still wants a new title, so we're working on that right now. I am truly sucktastic at titles, as I have mentioned, so I'm absolutely no help to her. I think part of the problem is that the book is slightly all over the place. I mean, it's funny, and my heroine, Sophie, is very sarcastic and self-deprecating, so it has that "chick lit" sort of voice, but at the same time, I mean, there are DEMONS. And people DIE. So it's kind of dark, too. Finding a title that's not as dark as DEMONGLASS, but that's not like, SOPHIE AND THE MAGICAL WORLD OF DEMON HUNTING SPARKLE LOVE is kind of hard, too. So I'll let you know what we come up with! I'd take ideas from the peanut gallery, but I figure that might be hard if you haven't read the book.

Also, THE BOOK THAT IS NO LONGER CALLED DEMONGLASS sold in another country this week! Yay! That brings us to a grand total of EIGHT countries wherein you can find TBTINLCDG! YAY!!

Hmmm...what else? Oh, right! You can now find me on Authors Now which is an AMAZING website with profiles of some GREAT YA books that are coming out in 2009/2010. So please go check it out and marvel at all the great reading you can do soon!

Oh, and since I failed so epically at Blogiversary, I'm saving the contest I had planned for later, which is actually a good thing, because it means I can give away more than I had originally planned (how's THAT for cryptic? ;) )

And last but not least, it's been my goal as we move into this, the 12 month span before TBTINLCDG comes out (a year! It's only a year away now! Well, depending on whether or not I keep my JAN 2010 pub date), to do more consistent blogging. However, I know a lot of people come to the site for publishing news, or various other Newbie Author things, and I don't always have that kind of stuff to talk about. So I'm opening up a poll to you, RWR Readers. Please vote for what form you'd like the blog to take, and I shall do as the majority rules! And don't worry, it's totally anonymous, so if you vote for "Please to stop your incessant Xanadu ramblings, KTHXBYE!", I will never know it's you.

I think you should run contests and give away cars! YEAH! And maybe tropical vacations with Ms Rachel herself! YEAH!

where's the voting button for that.

Girl, I think you should just do what you do when you're doing your thing.
Plus free stuff, preferable Anthropologie gift certificates that YOU DON'T EVEN USE

I dunno. Demon Sparkle Love works for me.

You could always open up the floor to Demon-related titles. That's what I did with my Brains contest, and it worked out great for me!

Oh, and I voted. :)

Belated Blogiversary Rachel.

I like your posts about the ins and outs of the pub industry. I'd like to see more of those.

As far as the title, Demonglass is really cool. Why did it change? I thought your agent/editor suggested it.
