A Winner! (And Yes, I'm Totally Behind! As Usual!)

Whew! So sorry for the delay, folks! You ever have one of those weeks where everything just gets away from you? That was last week for me. I finished up pass pages, which was SO EXCITING because that means the book now goes to the Great Book Making Place, and the next time I see it, it will be bound in an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy). It felt like quite the accomplishment!

Then The Mama came up for a surprise visit, which was most excellent, but also took time away from the computer, obvs!

Then there's the fact that I'm doing the SAHM thing right now. Small Son is changing daycares- sooooo stressful! Ugh!- so we're just keeping him home until the end of May. I have nothing but respect for the SAHM, because it is truly the hardest job in the world. Thank God for the Noggin channel is all I can say!

And last but not least, The Husband, Small Son, and I are headed to Maine later this week. MAINE. Which is very far from Alabama in case you didn't know. We're really looking forward to it, though. I'm especially pumped to get to go to this bookstore, which looks nine different levels of awesome. Also high on the agenda are reading, eating various foods containing lobster, and- OH PLEASE GOD- finishing HEX HALL 2. But sadly, this trip/the mad rush to finish a book means that Reading Writing Rachel will be on hiatus until June 1. I'll miss y'all!

But before I go, I need to announce the winner of The Basket of Awesome. Small Son has spoken (er, picked a number out of a bag), and the winner is...

DECEMBER!

December, email me at rachel@rachel-hawkins.com with your info, and I will get that out to you ASAP!

And thanks so much to everyone who entered. All of your stories were so happy-making and fabulous, and I seriously got the biggest grin ever reading each one. So THANKS!!

Now go do something fun, and we'll all meet back up in June, deal? ;-)

Rachel, I'm in MA, and I have to tell you, if you come across an open faced sandwich made with two english muffins, lobster salad, topped with cheddar cheese, get it. I didn't, but my sister did. Made her share it with me. Was ready for a throw down. It was that good. Yum yum.
Have fun!
Fingers crossed for sunny days.
