Just popping in for a sec. Got my "pass pages" today, which are giant sheets of paper that have the book laid out, looking all "booklike." It's a whole new experience reading HEX HALL like that! I've only ever seen it as a Word doc, so this is another stage in making everything feel very real.
Also, I am LOVING the fabulous day stories! I can't wait to let Small Son pick a winner tomorrow! (Also, I'm super glad I'm picking randomly, because all those stories are SO GOOD, and put a huge smile on my face. I'd never be able to choose!)
But I had to stop by and let everyone know that today is the release day for Cindy Pon's SILVER PHOENIX: BEYOND THE KINGDOM OF XIA!
Looooooook.....
Here's the description from Amazon:
No one wanted Ai Ling. And deep down she is relieved—despite the dishonor she has brought upon her family—to be unbetrothed and free, not some stranger's subservient bride banished to the inner quarters.
But now, something is after her. Something terrifying—a force she cannot comprehend. And as pieces of the puzzle start to fit together, Ai Ling begins to understand that her journey to the Palace of Fragrant Dreams isn't only a quest to find her beloved father but a venture with stakes larger than she could have imagined.
Bravery, intelligence, the will to fight and fight hard . . . she will need all of these things. Just as she will need the new and mysterious power growing within her. She will also need help.
It is Chen Yong who finds her partly submerged and barely breathing at the edge of a deep lake. There is something of unspeakable evil trying to drag her under. On a quest of his own, Chen Yong offers that help . . . and perhaps more.
Now, I first met Cindy on Absolute Write when we were both unagented writers, and I have to say, she is one of the loveliest people ever. She pursued her dream with such positivity and good spirits (and was so, so supportive of others pursuing their dreams) that you really wanted to see her succeed. And she did! And now her book is out and in stores, and I couldn't be happier for her! So go buy it!
Now back to reading...
See you tomorrow!

I didn't know such a thing existed. Must be so exciting. I wanted to thank you, too for your query post. After reading I reworked mine. So much more succinct now. Really enjoy reading along.
